The School of Survey Engineering of Henan University of Urban Construction was established in April 2000, and currently delivers three undergraduate programs and one diploma level program to over 1,000 full-time students. The undergraduate programs are Surveying Engineering, Geographical Information Systems, and Land Resources Management, and the diploma course is in Engineering Measurement Techniques. The Surveying Engineering was classified as university-level key subject, with "Surveying" also classed as a provincial-level course: "Urban Real Estate Valuation" and "Principles of Geographic Information Systems" are university-level courses.
The school’s teaching team includes 38 full time teachers: 3 professors, 9 associate professors, 2 PhDs, 4 teachers currentlyundertaking the PhDs. 26 teachers hold advanced degrees, representing 73% of the total teaching staff in the school. During the last 3 years more than 100 articles have been published in a variety of academic journals, including 40 papers in core journals and 9 papers in internationally indexed publications. In addition, 18 academic monographs and textbooks have been published. Across the same time period, 10 projects which at departmental level or above ware completed; 5 of them award winning.
OurExperimentalCenterwas identified as " university-level demonstration center" in 2010. The Experimental Center include 5 laboratories for mapping projects, engineering surveying, photogrammetry and remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS) and land information studies.
