The School of Mathematics and Physics was originally founded in 1987 and now offers degree programs in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. There are currently 248 full-time students in the Faculty. The Faculty has 64 teaching staff members, amongst whom 3 are professors, 23 are associate professors: 3 have PH.D degrees, 1 is a doctoral student and 35 have a master’s degree or above.
The school undertakes the teaching of students majoring in mathematics and applied mathematics (with direction of mathematical finance) as well as teaching courses such as higher mathematics, engineering mathematics, college physics and architectural physics for all students. In the past three years, the staff members in the Faculty have participated in or accomplished 13 research projects funded by ministries and published more than 200 academic papers, amongst which 52 papers were published on core journals; 20 in internationally indexed journals.
The Laboratory Center in the school consists of a Mathematical Modeling Lab, Financial Mathematics Lab, College Physics Lab and Architectural physics Lab.
The school is committed to educating graduates who can go on to apply their knowledge and skills in a professional context.
