School of Life Science and Engineering at Henan University of Urban Construction was established in Jun 2001. The undergraduate degree program enrolls students majoring in bioengineering and biotechnology. Currently, School of Life Science and Engineering has over 500 undergraduates. The number of faculty and staff who devotion and dedication at present is 29, including 6 professors, 5 associate professors. Among them there are 5 obtained Ph. D degrees and 20 M. S.

The Faculty possesses 8 laboratories, including laboratory of general biology, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, fermentation engineering, precision instrument room and etc., the equipment amounting to 3.4 million. In addition, the Faculty established stable relations about 10 at research institutes and enterprises and government institutions for off-campus internship and employment base in order to improve the faculty and students' ability in research and creativity.

The faculty has undertaken 32 research projects funded by central government, ministries, prefectures and enterprises and published more than 100 papers in recent years, published about 10 teaching materials as editor-in-chiefs or subeditors. With educational scale of the university extending, the Faculty will create an open and supportive academic atmosphere, extend academic horizons, improve teaching quality, train more and more much-needed professional talents that society are required.
